PROJECTS UNDERTAKEN

Sarva Seva Sangh Trust carries on the following Projects:

I.    CHILD DEVELOPMENT PROJECT FOR THE STREET, SLUM AND SPECIAL CHILDREN

1.    Play School & Pre-School

SSS is running a Pre-nursery (play school) for the age group of 2 years to 3 years and nursery (Balwadi/Pre-school) for the age group of 3 years to 4 years at its premises for the children from the slums and those belonging to the economically backward. Sarva Seva Sangh believes that preschool education is important and beneficial for any child because it gives the child a head start through social interactions.

2.   Special Needs Centre for Special children

From the Academic year of 2019, SSS launched into another venture of educating special needs children. These special needs children are integrated into the main stream school i.e. with the normal children, but stay through the afternoon for various physical, psychological and even aqua therapies.

3.   Out of School Youth Project

This project aims at the Empowerment of the Disadvantaged through appropriate skills development, leading to gainful employment, thus making a qualitative difference in the lives of the urban poor, rural poor, tribal poor and women, in collaboration with local industrial establishments and potential employers. Through this project we promote job oriented, work related, skill - based and life coping education to all without any disparity.

SSS is conducting some vocational and employment oriented courses under the umbrella category known as Community college.

Mainly two courses:

1.     SPOKEN ENGLISH

Classes are held from 10 AM to 8 PM in different batches of 2 hours each.

 2.    COMPUTER  COURSES

Presently the Computer Centre is an Authorised Learning Centre (ALC) of Maharashtra Knowledge Corporation Ltd (MKCL).

We conduct all the Diploma Courses offered under the aegis of MKCL.

II.       HIV/ AIDS Project

OBJECTIVE OF HIV PROGRAMME

Improve care and support services to children living with HIV/AIDS & children affected by HIV/AIDS & enable interventions which keep them with their parents or extended families.

The following services are provided to achieve the objective of providing care & support to children living with and affected by HIV/AIDS.

  Health/Nutrition/ Medical care:-

Monthly medical/nutrition care Camps are held on the fourth Saturday of every month. Doctors & nurses from Community Health Dept. of Holy Spirit Hospital, Andheri (E) are available at our premises and they distribute medicines free of cost during the Medical Camps in every month.

SSS distributes food hampers containing Rice, Wheat Flour, Lapsi, Jaggery, Oil, Toor Dal, Dates, Mung, Chawli and Matki weighing about  15kgs. for each family.

Educational support

Ensure the immediate well-being and holistic development of a child infected and affected by HIV/AIDS by paying for school/junior college fees, study materials etc. We reimburse the fees when the original bills of education are submitted.

III. Substance abusers Recuperation and Rehabilitation Project

At present we have limited our activities to conducting weekly meetings on all Thursdays and Sundays of Alcoholic Anonymous (AA) group, family visits and counselling and helping a few in their rehabilitation process.

IV.  Migrant Ministry

Another important activity of SSS is the Migrant ministry which is carried out in collaboration with the Holy Spirit Sisters. This ministry is geared towards taking care of the pastoral, social and educational needs of the migrants from northern India, mainly people hailing from Orissa, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, U.P, M.P., and the North Eastern States. This ministry is carried out on case to case basis as and when individual emergency arises.
